11 young chess players from Ugra will participate in the FIDE World Youth Championships
11 young chess players from Ugra will become the participants of the FIDE World Youth U14, U16, U18 Championships2016, that will be held in Khanty-Mansiysk from September’20 until October’04.
The list of participants representing the region was formed basing on the performance and ratings of the players.
The leaders of the score are the silver medalist of Girls U16 European Youth Chess Championships 2015 Irina Drogovoz and the winner of Boys U11 Cup of Russia 2015 Timur Sabirov. Both players represent Khanty-Mansiysk and are the members of the national team of Russia.
Together with them other boys and girls from the capital of the region will play in the Championships – many-time winners and medalists of municipal, regional and national tournaments Nikolay Ogorodnikov, Alexander Tchursin, Dmitry Tchumak, Anastasia Makarova and Lina Khannanova. Besides, little chess players Maria Alekseenko (10 y.o.) and Georgiy Ryabov (9 y.o.) will also take part in the Championships.
In addition to representatives of Khanty-Mansiysk two chess players from Surgut, winners and medalist of many tournaments including “Moscow Open” Marta Voskresentskaya and Evgeny Dolgikh will also compete in the Championships.
Almost all players from Ugra will compete in U14 category, only Dmitry Tchumak and Irina Drogovoz will participate in U16 and U18 categories.
